register to vote AND get a mail-in ballot · Oct 6, 12:18 AM

Monday, 10/6, is the deadline to register to vote in the November election. It’s quick and easy to do, you can take care of it online, and at the same time request a mail-in ballot.

Why a mail-in ballot?

Because this year’s ballot is long, more people are registered to vote, and you may end up waiting in line much longer than you planned, or may want to. You can also go over all the issues, amendments, and candidates at your leisure rather than in the voting booth.

If you are early, put the correct postage on and drop in the mail. Or you can drop it off at early voting locations. Or you can drop it off on election day at your voting location. Or you can drive through and drop it off at the designated area near the courthouse on election day.

Mail-in ballots are easy; the ballot comes in the mail with simple instructions (be sure you follow them, so your vote counts), mark off your choices, put in the secrecy sleeve, envelope and seal. You even get your “I voted” sticker with it! You can get just this ballot in the mail, or request all future ballots to come in the mail for some real convenience.

No worries about work issues popping up, long lines, faulty election machines, voter intimidation, blizzards, illness, last minute emergencies, flat tires, dead car batteries, whatever.
